Mike has worked mainly in consulting for the last 25 years. From being a director of one consultancy he spent several years as the Management Development Manager for a large financial services organisation. Following that he formed his own company, and has been a Bioss associate for over fifteen years.
After changing career direction to psychology, Mike had initially intended to pursue work at the person-machine interface. Finding greater challenges in the way people relate to their work and to organisations, he shifted direction again.
Now his prime motivation is in finding ways to integrate people and organisations that allow people to use their capability while enabling organisational effectiveness.
At the individual level this has included management development through, for example, evaluating potential, action learning, and development centres. With organisations this has been achieved through helping clients to define, design and implement new structures and roles aimed at bringing improved results.
Working at up to board level, including team building, coaching and leadership development, his experience has been gained with a wide range of organisations including finance, manufacturing, construction, retail and service industries.
Mike has an MSc in Occupational Psychology from Birkbeck College, is a Chartered Psychologist and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development. He is a practitioner of Career Path Appreciation, a qualified executive coach and is also qualified to use psychometric tests and questionnaires.
